have been coaching actors of all ages and all levels for over 38 years.
Over that time a different style/technique & method has been developed.
The Benson Method is unconventional. It is not the "Structured
Step by Step Style," and it is definitely not for the
"Faint of Heart." It works with actors that want to "hear the truth" and
"work from the truth."
Each actor learns in their own way, and needs to be coached that way.
There is a reason to approach it that way. It works.
You don't need to work 6 weeks or months on one subject and move on to
the next and the next. You can combine many at one time and it will stay with you as
your "Body will Remember."
OUTSIDE OF CLASS: Work on many different types of scenes, with a partner or
by yourself. You will be coached how to do this and more effectively. Watch different types of
films. See the actors "eye work"
"movement" "body language" "listening"
"working in-between the lines" "transitions."
Read "Directors Books" and "Psychology Books"
I believe you need to constantly have your body working. Changing it
up, giving it freedom and power. Working many scenes, many times and many
different kinds, in one class.
How can you possibly learn that way?
Master Actors work once a week doing 1 hour privates, in addition to
One Weekend Workshop Class a Month Sat. & Sun. 8 hours each
day. (8-12 actors in Class)
TUITION: $275 a month (extra 1 hour privates $25)
